Department Overview

Professionally driving the future delivering joy, peace and compassion from our student's first step on to the last step off. 

The Transportation Department is under the auspices of the Business Services Division. With a rich history and renowned for its attention to student health and safety, MVUSD transportation serves over 3,000 students daily and travels over a million miles each year. The Transportation Department helps support student learning and engagement through equitable transportation services for families throughout the District. Our school bus drivers complete over 2200 athletic and activity trips annually, reducing travel costs by 50% while providing extra work opportunities. 
The Transportation Department operates 117 school buses, including 46 electric powered, zero emission buses (the largest EV fleet in the State). The remainder of our fleet is powered by Renewable Natural Gas and Propane, ensuring the healthiest and safest transportation for our students and clean air for our community.
Additionally, the Transportation Department has a full complement of knowledgeable   Mechanics that maintain our entire District fleet. The Training staff keeps the team informed of new laws and regulations, while ensuring service and driving skills are industry best. Transportation operates with Excellence on Purpose!
