Software Approval Process

Purpose:  The Software Approval Process is meant to ensure:

  • a chain of communication is established and followed

  • program alignment is maintained

  • students and their respective data are safe and secure

  • MVUSD is protected from lawsuits related to AB 1584

Process:  The chain of communication is as follows:

  1. Requester submits the online form requesting access to a third-party software.
  2. The request is routed to his/her principal.
  3. If approved, the request is routed to Educational Services.
  4. If approved, the request is routed to Technology, Innovation & Assessment to ensure compliance with AB 1584 and to request/confirm cyber insurance.
  5. If approved, the request is forwarded to the Chief Academic Officer for final approval.
  6. If approved, the Principal is notified and must submit a Vendor Requisition to purchase the software. If it's free, skip this step.
  7. The request is then forwarded back to Technology, Innovation & Assessment to begin integration and rostering processes.
  8. Original requestor and Principal are notified that the integration is completed.
