Department Overview
Good nutrition is critical to good health and development. The mission of the Nutrition Services Department is to support student success and promote lifelong healthy eating habits by providing nourishing food choices through our school meals program and nutrition education. A well fed child is a child that is ready to learn! Our daily goal is to feed each and every student well balanced meals each day.
Nutrition Services provides the following services to our students:
- National School Lunch Program
- School Breakfast Program
- After School Super Snack (aka Child and Adult Care Food Program)
- Summer Meals in the community parks
- Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (at selected elementary schools)
- Saturday Innovation Camp Breakfast & Lunch
- Field Trip Meals
- Classroom Pizza Parties
- School Site BBQ's
- Special events with “Eat Smart Taco Food Truck” venue
