Energy Management Program

I would like to take the time to introduce myself to those who may not know me and re-introduce myself to those who do.  I am a long-time employee of Moreno Valley Unified.  I started back in 1995 as a Gardener I.  My strong work ethic allowed me to excel in that position and a few years later, I applied for and was promoted to a Gardener II position.  With that came additional responsibilities and after a period of time, I moved up into a Gardener III position.

The Gardener III position is a leadership position.  This means overseeing a minimum of 10 team members on a regular basis.  I also was responsible for another team when their leader was on vacation.  As a lead person, I met regularly with administrators, contractors, and other employees, all while training employees and leading by example in the work field.

Just recently, I applied for and accepted the position of District Energy Specialist when it was offered to me.  No matter the task, I look forward to using my passion and dedication to learn and overcome any challenges and obstacles that may come my way.

I am proud of my accomplishments here in the District.  During the many years I have been employed, I have made many wonderful relationships within my District family.  Of course, my relationship with my beautiful wife of 34 years, my children, grandchildren, and the rest of my family takes precedence, but my District family is the next greatest relationship I have.

One of my passions is helping out each year during the “Adopt a Family” program that is held during the Christmas season.  My brother also has an extensive faith-based homeless outreach program, and I spend many hours helping him serve those in dire circumstances.

It has been a great joy to be able to watch my four daughters graduate from this school District.  In fact, three of my daughters currently work within the District.  One is a Custodian and the others serve as Instructional Assistants.

My greatest joy of all is being able to watch my five grandchildren grow as they attend school here in the District. Teaching my grandchildren and other future leaders about energy conservation and efficiency is something I am greatly looking forward to accomplishing.
