Valley View High School Eagles' pride will now be heard louder than ever as they are officially home to the Riverside County's first colored-turf football stadium — in the color red!
On Wednesday, October 3, 2018, the Moreno Valley Unified School District Board of Education, Superintendent Dr. Martinrex Kedziora along with Cabinet and city officials cut the ribbon to recognize the new field and track opening just in time for homecoming.
The new field and track was completed with about $3 million of funding from the voter-approved Measure M Bond. The field features high-tech cooling technology and the school now has a rubberized track that will allow the track and field teams to host home meets.
The synthetic stadium field will save an estimated 10 million gallons of water a year.
“This is a very exciting day for Valley View High School. I know that this field will be a source of pride for not only the school, but the community,” said Board Member Gary Baugh.
The celebration also included the school’s homecoming pep rally. The homecoming court was recognized and Class and Club floats were paraded around the stadium.
Valley View played their first game on the new red field on Friday, October 5, 2018, against Notre Dame.
