Moreno Valley Unified School District (MVUSD) is proud to support Vista del Lago High School graduate Nick Araujo in his candidacy for the Associated Students of the University of California Senate.
Nick is the representation of an exemplary graduate of MVUSD. As a student he regularly worked with younger students to encourage participation in college-bound programs like AVID, Upward Bound and AP courses. He is a strong leader and speaker, sharing his experiences during the keynote address of the AVID End-of-Year Celebration for Riverside, Inyo, Mono and San Bernardino counties.
Nick has a passion to lead students on a path to success. Not only was he supportive of his fellow students, he also facilitated a workshop on educational equity and enriching student success for district administrators, educators and staff at the MVUSD’s annual Leadership Summit.
“He has the true heart of a servant, the heart of a leader,” said Assistant Administrator of Instruction Brenda Burgo. “His heart is for the people, he truly wants to see others succeed. It’s about what he can do for other people. He champions access and equity.”
His experience in leadership roles at Moreno Valley Unified will make him a strong candidate for the ASUC Senate. A vote for Nick Araujo will ensure educational equity at UC Berkeley and a focus on more robust professional development programs, leading to stronger student achievement across all student groups.
“Nick is a proven leader and is an ideal candidate for the ASUC Senate,” said Superintendent Dr. Martinrex Kedziora. “Nick will champion equity for all students and seek improvement in academics to support every student at UC Berkeley.”
