Five Canyon Springs High School students recently spent some time in the sun at the SunPower Solar Energy Academy in Riverside.
The academy was an “immersive work-based learning experience.” The week covered various aspects of solar energy and included hands-on activities and field trips.
The students even learned how to sell and design a residential solar electric system. Students also got a chance to hear from industry professionals and opportunity to create future career connections.
Two incoming seniors, Luz Cordova and Ariel Perez, earned a paid internship in Vital Link's STEM and Arts Career Showcase in April.
The week provided valuable experience to a career field that’s fast growing.
