Mission Statement The mission of the MVUSD Transportation Department is to provide the safe and efficient transportation of the District’s students, to and from school, sporting events and special activities; as well as to provide professional development of our employees so that we can provide the best possible service to the students of our District.
The Moreno Valley USD Transportation Department travels approximately 1.2 million miles annually transporting 4,500 students daily over the 77 square mile service area of the District. The department operates 108 school buses, 32 which are clean Diesel, 22 Compressed Natural Gas, 18 are Propane powered.
The Moreno Valley Unified School District Transportation Department was the first in Southern California to receive the Clean Air Propane powered Vision buses; this was accomplished with the support of the MVUSD Board of Education and the South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD).
In pursuing our goal of maintaining a fleet of Clean Air vehicles the Transportation Department was successful in procuring grant funding to retro fit 32 diesel buses with Particulate Matter Traps which reduces the emissions (black smoke) and allows the buses to burn as clean as a CNG powered bus.
Our children are able to breathe clean air while being safely transported on our Yellow School Buses.
