Dr. Judy D. White began her tenure as Superintendent of Schools for Moreno Valley United School District on February 14, 2011. She has over 34 years of experience in education and embraces a united effort of “Excellence on Purpose.” Prior to her appointment in Moreno Valley, she served as Deputy Superintendent for San Bernardino City Unified School District. Dr. White has served as Teacher, Assistant Principal, Principal, Special Education Director, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, and Deputy Superintendent of Program Improvement, Curriculum/Instruction and Accountability & Research. She has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Azusa Pacific University and Aenon Bible College. Her educational credits include a B.A. in Sociology from Occidental College in Los Angeles, M.A. in Education from California State University San Bernardino, and Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Azusa Pacific University. Judy D. White is a member of ACSA, CALSA, Kiwanis, NAACP, and Sisters in Christ, and is the recipient of numerous awards, most recently the 2012 Madame C.J. Walker Public Service Award, 2012 Soroptimist Ruby Award for Women Helping Women, 2012 Moreno Valley Black Chamber of Commerce Leadership Award, 2011 Phi Delta Kappa Sorority, Delta Rho Chapter Award, 2011 CAAASA Emerging Educator Award, 2010 ACSA Region 12 Dr. Marcus A. Foster Memorial Award and 2009 ACSA Region 12 Central Office Administrator of the Year Award. While in San Bernardino, Dr. White founded the “City of Readers” Literacy Program, as well as the ASTERISK* Program, providing jobs to high school students. Since her appointment as Superintendent for Moreno Valley USD in February 2011, Dr. White has instituted many new programs to involve the community and support student achievement. Under her leadership the District has: conducted districtwide Back to School events and Community Career Days; established a formal “Adopt a School” program for local businesses and organizations and Gift of Time Volunteer program to increase volunteers on campus; established an “Excellence on Purpose” Educational Foundation, implemented a “Help Me Graduate” hotline and webpage to assist credit-deficient students, established districtwide Game Nights to support District athletic teams, opened a Parent Resource Center, and secured several donations including a $5,000 grant from San Manuel Band of Mission Indians to provide supplemental reading books to students and provide funding for volunteer fingerprinting. Dr. White has become known as an inspirational advocate for all students and has made a name for herself in the community for reaching out, embracing change for the better, and holding the district accountable for student success.
