Canyon Springs Names Head Football Coach

MORENO VALLEY – Canyon Springs High School has hired Lance Pfeiffer to become its head football coach. Pfeiffer, who was a Cougar assistant the past two seasons, is accepting his first head varsity coaching position.
The 37-year-old Pfeiffer replaces Rich Bancroft as the Cougars’ head coach.
The past two seasons, Canyon Springs has posted 16 victories and advanced to the CIF-Southern Section Central Division semifinals in each campaign. In 2007, the Cougars reached the championship falling to Ontario Colony. Canyon Springs also earned a share of the Inland Valley League football title last season with a 3-1 league mark.
Prior to arriving at Canyon Springs, Pfeiffer was the special teams coordinator and receivers coach at
Pfeiffer is the son of long-time area football coach Hal Pfeiffer, who helped lead Canyon Springs to the school’s first CIF crown in 1988.
